Welcome to 2010 everyone. Here is to a cracker of a year that is going to bring us all what we are hoping for.

The Australian Ski team had a somewhat chilled Christmas break. I've unfortunately been having ongoing issues with my knee and have been pretty heavily sidelined for the last few weeks.

To break it down for those of you that read my last blog I am a heavy participant of the unglamorous side of skiing. I have had three separate injections in the past three weeks all of which have been somewhat successful but none have been the saving grace that I have been searching for.

We have trained a few days but I have not been getting the best feeling in my knee so for the moment it is time to focus wholly on getting to Vancouver as healthy as possible and maximizing the quality time on snow without regressing into more pain.


Table sledding, the new Olympic sport

So not being able to ski too much of late it has been awesome to have my girlfriend here to keep my days exciting. We have had some good days freeskiing around the Lofer area in Austria, some enjoyable nights out sampling the local night life over Christmas and New Years, borrowing tables and sledding them down the local mountains and throwing back a few steins and plenty of schnitzels. Couple that with playing tourist, watching our fellow Aussies competing and catching up with the up and coming talents whilst enjoying the winter months life is still pretty good at the end of the day.

I am still definitely going to be competing in Whistler at the Olympics in February and I am going to do my absolute best to be ready to give it my all and go BALLS OUT!
